So after the state’s takeover of Metro Phase‑1 (big move, still watching how it plays out), now we’ve got another ambitious headline,
Telangana unveils tourism projects worth ₹15,279 crore as part of its 2025–2030 tourism policy.
On paper, it looks good:
1.) 30+ mega and niche tourism projects
2.) Cruise at Muchukunda river, tiger safari at Vikarabad, wellness resorts in Ananthagiri, vineyard & winery concepts
3.) Private partnerships with BookMyShow, Oyo, IRCTC etc.
Bold claim: Tourism to become 10% of Telangana’s GDP, generate 50,000+ jobs
And of course, the pitch: this will create demand in “non-core” areas, enhance infrastructure, improve last-mile connectivity and boost real estate value around these newly tagged destinations.
As someone from Telangana, I hope this government goes forward with both these projects instead of leaving them on papers like many more, both of them can boost much needed social infra for the state
