Data Centre in Chevella | Water Scarcity Job opportunities

Saw this news floating around today about this massive 1,500-acre Data Centre City coming up in Chevella, around 55 km from the city.

Honestly, 55 km feels pretty far out right now, but I guess for that scale of land they had no choice. In our office, people are already talking about it, and some guys are saying it's going to bring a crazy amount of employment opportunities in the next 5-6 years once the whole corridor gets active. Definitely looks like a huge boost for jobs and IT expansion if it actually happens on time.

But I don't know, I am a bit skeptical about the whole thing. Data centres need a massive amount of water for cooling and running everything, right? Chevella side already has some water scarcity issues during peak summers from what I've heard from people staying around that belt. If they start pumping out resources for this, it's just going to make the water scarcity way worse for the local villages and future residential projects there.

We always hear about these mega projects and how land appreciation will shoot up, but what about basic stuff like water and proper roads? It's good for jobs down the line, but sustaining it looks tricky.
