The Telangana High Court has recently ordered a comprehensive land survey in Patelguda to resolve the ongoing dispute over villa demolitions. The case centers on the alleged construction of villas on government land. These villas were demolished by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), which had claimed the structures were built on encroached government land. However, local residents and a landowner, Madhava Reddy, argue that the land in question was not government property but private land related to survey number 6.
The court has directed authorities to conduct a thorough survey to determine the exact ownership of the land, offering all parties the chance to present relevant documents. If the land is confirmed to be government property, further legal action will be taken to clear any encroachments. This is part of a broader initiative by authorities to address illegal constructions across Hyderabad, including in areas like Kukatpally and Ameenpur.
